Good News For Employees: Centre To Change Gratuity Rules, Deets Inside

The Central Government is likely to issue a notification soon on Gratuity Transfer. According to reports, the central government has already agreed to change the Gratuity Rules. There is a proposal to include the Gratuity Transfer item in the Social Security Code. 

With this, the employee can transfer the gratuity amount from one organization to another when he changes his job. At present, a portion of the employee salary is being deducted under Gratuity each month if the employee works for more than five years in the company.

The gratuity amount is determined by the employee service period, Basic Salary and Dearness Allowance the employee earns. There is a proposal to offer gratuity without considering the number of years of service which is not officially implemented.
