Ghantasala's Son, Popular Dubbing Artist Ratnakumar Passes Away

CHENNAI: Ghantasala Ratnakumar, son of singer Late  Ghantasala Venkateswara Rao's passed away due to cardiac arrest today in Chennai. He was suffering from Kidney related issues and was admitted to Kaveri Hospital in Chennai recently. He died while undergoing treatment on Thursday.

The singer had contracted COVID and was tested negative two days ago before he died.

The singer-cum-dubbing artist had worked for many Telugu movies dubbed from Tamil for the past 32 years. He also entered the India Book of Records for dubbing eight hours non-stop  in 2012 and had the distinction of dubbing for more than 1000 films in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Hindi and Sanskrit. He also entered the Amazing World Records and Tamil Nadu Book for Records. He has also lent his voice to over 10,000 episodes in Telugu and Tamil serials and more than 50 documentaries. He also received the  Nandi Award for the best male dubbing artiste, and had received the ‘Ugadi Puraskar' from the Madras Telugu Association.

His daughter Veena Ghantasala is also a popular dubbing artist and singer who is married to Kshanam movie director Ravikanth Perepu.

Celebrities and fans have condoled the demise of the  Ratnakumar.
