A major fire broke out in Delhi's Chandni Chowk early today, burning over 60 shops and booths. Twelve fire engines were dispatched to the scene to put out the flames. There were no injuries or casualties reported. Around 4.45 a.m., a fire broke out in Lajpat Rai Market, which is located just across from the Red Fort.
As firefighters and local citizens attempted to extinguish the fire, footage from the scene showed soaring flames engulfing shops. A senior fire official is at the scene and shared that the cooling process is underway now. He also shared that the cause of the fire is still unknown.
