In the Muzaffarpur region of Bihar, a farmer got Rs 52 crore in his pension account.

In the Muzaffarpur region of Bihar, a farmer got Rs 52 crore in his pension account. After discovering a significant sum of money in his account, the elderly man petitioned the government to grant him part of it so that he could live comfortably for the remainder of his life.

What would you do if your bank account was suddenly credited with crores of rupees? You'll be on cloud nine for sure. When an elderly man from Bihar got nearly Rs 52 crore in his pension account, he found himself in a similar predicament. His only request to the government was that they: "Provide us with some of this amount so that we can spend the rest of our lives smoothly".

When a Customer Service Point (CSP) worker told Ram Bahadur Shah that he had more than Rs 52 crore credited to his account, he leapt out of his skin. Ram Bahadur Shah comes from a village in the Katihar police station area of Muzaffarpur district. After the incident was uncovered, both the guy and the officer were taken aback.

A farmer, Ram Bahadur Shah, said he went to a neighbouring CSP officer to have his pension account checked. The account balance was more than Rs 52 crore when he presented his Aadhaar card and pressed his thumb for verification.

"We were shocked to hear this and wondered where the amount had come from," Ram Bahadur Shah said.

"We have spent our lives farming. I only appeal to the government to give us some of this amount so that we can spend the rest of our lives smoothly."

Sujit Kumar Gupta, Ram Bahadur Shah's son, stated his father's account had been credited with more than Rs 52 crore.

"We are worried over the amount...We demand that the government should help us as we are farmers and belong to a poor family," Sujit Kumar Gupta said.

Meanwhile, Sub-Inspector Manoj Pander, Katra police station, said, "At present, we have informed local authorities about the matter. Police will investigate the matter and question the officer of the concerned bank in which he [Ram Bahadur Shah] has an account."

This isn't the first time that a big sum of money has been sent to the accounts of random people in Bihar. Two school kids in the state's Katihar region awoke to find almost Rs 900 crore in their bank accounts the day before.

Another incident occurred in Khagaria, Bihar when a citizen received Rs 1.61 lakh in his account due to a bank error. He then refused to give over the money, claiming it was provided as financial help from Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
