2021 JEE-Mains in August, NEET September

According to sources, the Ministry of Education is considering holding the pending editions of the engineering entrance exam JEE-Mains in July and August, while the medical entrance exam NEET could be moved to September. However, no final decision has been made in this regard, and the Ministry is currently reviewing the Covid-19 situation in all states and UTs.

"The upcoming editions of JEE-Mains are expected to be held in late July or early August, with a fortnight's gap between them. NEET will most likely be postponed until September," according to a source.

The first phase began in February and ended in March, with the remaining phases scheduled for April and May.

However, after an exponential increase in the number of Covid-19 cases during the second wave of the pandemic in the country, they had to be postponed. The exam was scheduled on July 3.

While no further decisions on the NEET-UG exam, which is scheduled for August 1, have been made, registration for the exam, which was supposed to begin on May 1, has been put on hold.

The fate of the Central University Common Entrance Test has yet to be decided by the ministry (CUCET). In light of the pandemic, the CBSE cancelled class 12 board exams earlier this month and announced a marks tabulation policy. Following the CISCE and several state boards also cancelled the same exams.
