18 Killed, 189 Injured In A Tanker Truck Explosion On China Highway

BEIJING: Eight people were killed and 189 others were injured in a tanker truck explosion on a highway in southeastern China on Saturday at around 4:45 p.m, June 14.

According to reports of a news agency, the truck carrying liquefied gas during the time of explosion which took around 4:45 PM on the Shenyang-Haikou Expressway which is located on the south of Shanghai in Zhejiang province.

After the truck exploded and fell onto a factory workshop, which resulted in the second explosion.

 This explosion has caused extensive damage to the surrounding buildings near the highway. As per the reports of the Wenling city government that houses and workshops collapsed following the explosion and around 189 people were injured and rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.

A worker at a nearby restaurant told a news agency that the windows of her home were shattered by the blast, but her mother and brother were unharmed.
