The White House announced on Friday that Vice President Kamala Harris handled presidential responsibilities for one hour and 25 minutes while President Joe Biden was under anesthesia. Official letters to Congress confirming the temporary transfer of power were sent at 10:10 a.m., said the White House press office.
According to a statement from the White House, "The president resumed his duties at 11:35 a.m.," (1635 GMT).
