A total of 120 Indian officers are on board the plane. Many of them are employees of the Indian Embassy there. They all arrived at the Kabul airport on Monday evening to return home. They have not been able to move since the Taliban takeover.
The Indian Air Force is said to have talked to the US forces to evacuate stranded Indians, who heaved a sigh of relief after they were airlifted from the violence stricken Kabul. Attempts are being made to bring back Indians safely. Indian Foreign Ministry has set up a special Afghanistan helpline.
