Hyderabad Students Stuck in Afghanistan Yearning to Come Back

Hyderabad students who are staying in war-torn Afghanistan wanted to return to the city as soon as the situation allows.

Hamid, who went to Afghanistan a few weeks ago feels that he can come back to India soon. “I have learnt so much over there. In fact, I have received so many messages from my Indian friends to enquire about my well-being. However, looking at the current situation, I am terrified. I hope I can come back to India.”

“Seeing the situation here, I am getting emotional. If there is a chance for me to pursue a Master’s degree, I would love to come back to Hyderabad,” said Waheedullah who left for Afghanistan in 2020.

 “The Taliban doesn’t care much about education or keep abreast with developments in the field of modern science. There is no room here for people like me. As soon as I can, I will come back to Hyderabad,” Waheedullah added.

The Hyderabadi students staying in Afghanistan are waiting for Indian authorities to confirm their courses in India so that they can return to home country. They are urging the officials to take them back to Hyderabad.
