Elon Musk, the founder and CEO of Tesla, took to Twitter to explain why he chose Ashok Elluswamy, an autopilot project director from India, to work for his company. Elluswamy was the first person selected for Tesla's Autopilot team, with Musk soliciting applications for the position on Twitter back in 2015.
“I tweeted that Tesla is about to launch an auto pilot team. Through that tweet, Ashok was the first to be selected in the auto pilot team,” he said in a tweet. Speaking about Elluswamy’s work experience and skills, he has worked with WABCO Vehicle Control System before joining Tesla. He was also an intern at the Volkswagon Electronic Research Lab.
He graduated from the College of Engineering Guindy in Chennai with a bachelor's degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering and a master's degree in Robotics System Development from Carnegie Mellon University.
Some time ago, Tesla announced an opening at their company for Artificial Intelligence (AI) engineers. “As always, Tesla is looking for hardcore AI engineers who care about solving problems that directly affect people’s lives in a major way,” Musk tweeted with a link.
