HYDERABAD: Senior BJP leader and former Khairatabad MLA Chintala Ramachandra Reddy has tested positive for COVID-19. He is currently admitted to Apollo Hospitals in Jubilee Hills on Sunday night.
Last night, the BJP leader was brought to the hospital when he started showing symptoms of SARS-CoV-2. Doctors collected his swab samples and sent them for testing.
His test results came positive and following protocols, his wife and son were also admitted to Apollo Hospitals on Monday. Their test results are awaited.
Hospital authorities said that Reddy's condition is stable, as reported by a leading daily.
Meanwhile, Telangana has recorded the highest single-day surge since lockdown with 199 new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday taking the total number of cases in the state to 2,698. Five persons died in the last 24 hours taking the COVID-19 death tally to 82.
