GHMC Sprays 110.5 Tonnes Of Sodium Hypochlorite In Public Places Amid COVID-19 Pandemic

The Telangana government is taking all the measures to control the spread of coronavirus in the state. The GHMC has sprayed 110.5 tonnes of Sodium Hypochlorite in the public places under limits to date amid the coronavirus pandemic.

GHMC said that, in the present coronavirus situation, a total of 202 additional staff have been deployed and they are spraying Sodium Hypochlorite (NaCLO) at places where there are COVID-19 positive cases, identified government hospitals, offices, ATM centres, markets and other public places.

In a press release, GHMC said that till now, 110.5 tonnes of the chemical was sprayed in the areas within the limits twice a day.

In GHMC, 2,375 staff are working for vector control operations and are taking all the measures for the effective surveillance and control of mosquito breeding and the spread of vector borne diseases.

According to the Pin Point Program, 642 teams are taking up anti larval operations. On a regular basis, GHMC is also checking overhead tanks, sumps, pit taps, water storage containers, unwanted waste materials, etc. GHMC also said that they are removing the garbage in the city on a regular basis. 

The National Dengue Day is observed on Sunday, (May 16th), the GHMC officials are taking up various awareness programmes.
