Marvel is back and this time with one of their most ambitious projects ever. Spiderman: No Way Home hit the Indian screens on Thursday (Dec 16) and broke many records on Day 1. The opening day collection for this Tom Holland starrer is as big as Avengers: Endgame.
On the first day, NWH garnered a total collection of Rs 32.67 crore, beating the record of Akshay Kumar starrer Sooryavanshi which minted over ₹26.29 crores. With this, the Hollywood movie has become the biggest opener of the year.
The first-day collection for Spider-Man: No Way Home was 3.5 times higher than the first day of its predecessor, "Spider-Man: Far From Home," which was released in 2019. This shows the hype for this Marvel movie is on par with Endgame.
The film stars Tom Holland in the lead with Zendaya, Benedict Cumberbatch, Willem Dafoe, Alfred Molina, and Jamie Foxx in pivotal roles.
Spiderman NWH sees competition from Allu Arjun starrer Pushpa, but given the hype, both movies are expected to do extraordinarily well at the box office. Even on Friday, the release day of Pushpa, the superhero film did not seem to slow down as it recorded one of the highest second-day collections for Hollywood movies in India.
