Director Ram Gopal Varma's controversial film 'Vyooham' has got relief in the Telangana High Court. Following a thorough review, the CBFC's revising committee, serving as a grievance redressal mechanism, issued a revised censor certificate for the film. This gives relief for Ram Gopal Varma.

The case, presided over by justices Alok Aradhe and Anilkumar Jukanti, came to hearing. The single judge rejected cinematography law violations, emphasizing the need for a decisive release decision beyond trial and error, such as relying on trailers. Additional Solicitor General (ASG) Narasimha Sharma, representing CBFC, presented arguments during the proceedings. The court directed the Central Board of Film Certification, Revising Committee, and the film's producer Dasari Kiran Kumar to submit all relevant records for consideration.

On December 28, the High Court halted the film's release, citing the lack of reasons provided by the Revising Committee for issuing a Certificate of Exhibition. Initially denied due to irregularities, the court noted that the certificate was granted despite minimal deletions or alterations.

Vyooham reportedly explores the events leading to the demise of former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy and the subsequent political journey of his son, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, who currently serves as AP Chief Minister.
