He Declined Chiranjeevi's Offer Twice! Here's Why

In the world of cinema, opportunities to work with legendary figures like Megastar Chiranjeevi are not a regular occurrence, but a star actor stood his ground despite being offered roles not once, but twice. It was none other than Malayalam hero Prithviraj Sukumaran. He turned out Chiranjeevi's offers for "Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy" and"Godfather" due to prior commitments.

Despite the golden chance to share the screen with the Megastar, Prithviraj remained firm in his decision. During a recent press meet, he candidly shared the reasons behind opting out of such prestigious roles.

"Chiranjeevi asked me to join him for 'Sye Raa' and 'Godfather,' but I couldn't because I had other commitments. In 2017-18, I was offered a part in 'Sye Raa' by Chiranjeevi and Suhasini, but I had to decline. It means a lot that such a big star considered me, it's a certificate in itself," he said.

As Prithviraj was busy working on 'Aadujeevitham', a project close to his heart he could not accept Chiranjeevi's offer." I declined the offer explaining to him that I am busy with my next film," he added.

Prithviraj then expressed his strong desire to work with Chiranjeevi if a future opportunity arises."Later, 'Lucifer' was going to be released in Telugu as 'Godfather.' I was still busy with 'Aadujeevitam,' so I told Sir that I couldn't join his movie yet. He asked if I was still on the same project for four years. I messaged him that although I really wanted to work with him, I couldn't at the moment. He casually messaged me and even remembered me on the day of 'Godfather's' release. If there's a chance in the future, I'll work with Chiranjeevi Sir," he concluded.

Based on a true-life incident, 'Aadujeevitham' is set to release in theatres worldwide on 28th March 2024.
