Lata Mangeshkar known as Nightingale of India has won the hearts of millions of people across generations with her sweet voice. She has crooned more than 30,000 songs in around 36 regional Indian languages. Lata Mangeshkar started her career in 1942. She won three National Film Awards, six Filmfare Awards, two Filmfare Special Awards, Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award, etc., She was awarded the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 1989. In 2001, she was also awarded Bharat Ratna, India's highest civilian honour. In 1974, she became the first Indian to perform in the Royal Albert Hall.

In an interview, Lata spoke about her biggest personality flaw. She said that "My biggest personality flaw was my fierce temper. Even as a child I had a major temper issue. I would get angry very quickly. This changed as I grew older. Then there came a time when my temper vanished. Now I don’t get angry at all. I sometimes wonder what happened to my fierce temper.”
