Dhanashree Verma On Trolls

17 Mar, 2024 14:23 IST|Sakshi Post

Dhanashree Verma, wife of Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal spoke out about severe trolling and the effects it has had on her family following a viral picture with choreographer Pratik Utekar on the sets of the dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa season 11.

With nearly 6.1 million followers on Instagram, Dhanashree is very active on social media. She often shares reels, makes videos with her husband Yuzvendra Chahal, and entertains her fans. However, she was trolled heavily for her recent picture with Pratik.

Netizens flooded her social media with comments questioning her loyalty to her husband and urging her not to engage in activities that could be unfaithful. This negativity took a toll on Dhanashree, who typically handled trolls with maturity or humour. However, this time, the impact was different.

"Are you okay with this? Asking is easier than passing verdicts. Trolls and memes never bothered me. I used to handle them maturely or just laugh them off, but this latest troll got to me," she said in the latest video on her Instagram handle.

Dhanashree went on to add that the troll's comments this time impacted her and her family. She called for a more respectful approach from online users, reminding them that behind the public personas are real people with emotions and families.

"This time, it's different because it's not just about me. It's about my family and loved ones. People on social media often forget or ignore how their words can impact us and our families," she added.

"I'm asking for a bit more sensitivity. Remember, we're here to entertain you with our talents and skills. Don't forget, I'm just a woman like your mother, sister, friend, or wife. Let's keep it fair and respectful."

Concluding her message, Dhanashree stated that she won't give in to negativity and will stay strong. "I'm a fighter, and I won't give up. Let's spread love, be sensitive, and avoid spreading hate. Let's focus on the positives and move forward together," she concluded.
