Sonu Srinivas Gowda, Kannada Bigg Boss Season 1 fame has recently made headlines for all the wrong reasons. The Bengaluru police have arrested her in connection with the illegal adoption of an 8-year-old girl. This arrest came after the Child Protection Office in Baidarahalli, Bengaluru West raised concerns that proper government procedures were not followed during the adoption process.

The authorities took action following multiple complaints alleging that Sonu Srinivas Gowda had adopted the child solely to garner sympathy and fame within society. West Division Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) S Girish shed light on the situation, stating that an official from the Women and Child Welfare Department had reported that Sonu had evaded government regulations in the adoption of the young girl from Raichur.

Known for her presence on YouTube and social media platforms, Sonu featured the child in various videos, claiming to support her financially through the generated funds. However, investigations revealed a lack of proper documentation and transparency in the adoption process. This prompted the authorities to take legal action.

Despite Sonu's claims of innocence, authorities emphasized the necessity of transparency under the Hindu Adoption Act. Keeping a child out of school and involving them in videos without a legal relationship constitutes a violation of laws meant to protect children's welfare.

As a result of these developments, the child has been placed in a government orphanage while Sonu faces interrogation by the police. A non-bailable case has been registered against her, and she is expected to appear in court as part of legal proceedings.
