Now, the news is that Akhil will be seen under the direction of Surender Reddy. If reports are believed to be true then Akhil's next movie will be with Surender Reddy who is basking in the success of ‘Sye Raa’. It is learned that Surender Reddy has narrated the script to Nagarjuna along with Akhil. They both seem to have been impressed with the storyline and given a nod to the film.

Currently, Akhil is occupied with Most Eligible Bachelor. Pooja Hegde is playing as the female lead in the movie. Not long ago, the makers of Most Eligible Bachelor have released posters from the movie which gathered mixed reviews from all the quarters. Due to novel coronavirus, the film shoots are off. According to sources, eighty percent of the shooting has been completed and the team of Most Eligible Bachelor is waiting to release it as soon as pandemic dies down.

Most Eligible Bachelor is an upcoming Indian Telugu-language film written and directed by Bhaskar and jointly produced by Bunny Vas and Vasu Varma on GA2 Pictures featuring Akhil Akkineni and Pooja Hegde. Gopi Sundar is the music director of the movie. Most Eligible Bachelor is scheduled to release on the occasion of Pongal in January 2021.
