CHITTOOR: In a horrific incident a woman allegedly stabbed and beheaded her husband on Thursday morning in Chittoor district. As per reports, the 53-year-old man named Sribhashyam Ravichandrasuri was allegedly beheaded by his wife named Vasundhra (50) at their residence in Bugga Veedhi at Renigunta in the district. The victim was running a plastic box-making unit at Mullapudi near Tiruchanur and the woman was a housewife. While the victim was from Narasaraopeta in Guntur district, the woman hailed from Giddalur in Prakasam district and were living in Renigunta for several years.

The couple had frequent fights over his drinking habits and she also suspected him to be having an extramarital affair with another woman in the same area. On Thursday morning, she made breakfast for him. While he was eating she attacked him with a kitchen knife on the head. Shocked and even before the husband could react, she sat on him and beheaded him. After severing his head completely, she put it in a plastic cover and walked into a police station along with her son. She confessed to the police that she had committed the crime and showed them his severed head in the plastic cover, much to the shock of the police.

When the police reached their residence, they saw the man’s body in a pool of blood. Renigunta Urban CI Inspector Anju Yadav stated that the couple's 20-year-old son named Jaydeep alias Sai who is reportedly mentally unsound and their neighbours also had doubts over the woman’s mental state.

Police have taken the woman into custody and are investigating the matter.
