Miscreant Circulating Pirated Copies Of Darshan's Roberrt Arrested in Bengaluru

A person was arrested in Bengaluru for allegedly selling pirated copies of Sandalwood Challenging Star  Darshan’s latest movie titled ‘Roberrt’.

"A case has been registered against a group of individuals who were selling pirated copies of 'Roberrt'. The accused were sharing links of this movie via several social media handles," informed DCP of West Bengaluru, Sandeep M Patil.

"A case was registered by the Manager of Umapathy Films, Shrikanth M at Magadi Road police station under Copyright Act 1957. As of now, one of the accused, Vishwanath has been arrested," he said.

The film which opened to a great response racked up a whopping Rs 17.24 crores on the very first day of its release. Now, the film has created a new record in its collections. The Kannada version of Roberrt was released worldwide and the movie raked in Rs 12.78 crores at the box office on the second day of its theatrical run. The third-day collections are said to be Rs 14 crores. Including the Telugu version, Darshan's Roberrt collections are expected to touch the 50 crore mark by the end of four days of the movie's theatrical run.

Roberrt is directed by Thaarun Sudhir and stars talented artistes like Ravi Kishan, Jagapathi Babu, Devaraj and Asha Bhat. The film is bankrolled by Umapathy Gowda. Darshan released in theatres across India on March 11. The Mahashivaratri holiday along with the long weekend has given the movie's collections a boost.
