Man Arrested For Trying To Kill Wife With Stones In Khammam

A man was arrested for allegedly trying to kill his wife in the Khammam district of Telangana on Wednesday suspecting her of infidelity. However, few passers-by helped in saving the woman's life by pelting stones at the accused.

The accused, identified as Nageshwar Rao, is an electrician and lives away from his wife and children in Chilakalapadu, Andhra Pradesh. In February, Nageshwar's wife Navya took away her children without informing her husband and was staying in the TNGO colony of Khammam.

Nageshwar, who was trying to track his wife since then, spotted her while she was travelling in an auto-rickshaw. He followed Navya and at a deserted place, pushed her into the bushes and tried to kill her with stones. He also tried to strangulate her.

Fortunately, few passers-by spotted them in the bushes. They pelted stones at the accused and rescued the woman. Navya sustained injuries and was shifted to a hospital for treatment, while Nageshwar was handed over to police.
