KURNOOL: Police busted a sex racket in Kurnool and arrested two persons for sending porn videos and making nude video calls for money. As per the Kurnool One Town CI Kala Venkataramana, the accused allegedly used marketing apps to send call girls for prostitution. They even made nude video calls ranging from Rs 300 to Rs 5,000 using the marketing apps.

The CI said the gang used several apps to send bulk messages to a maximum of 1,000 people at a time. In this context, some people were trapped in this racket and used to pay higher amounts to the accused. Later, they used to call the victim and collected large amounts of money by threatening and blackmailing them.

"Their scams were not only limited to Kurnool district but also all over the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana," said Kala Venkataramana. As per the complaint registered by several people, the accused were taken into custody, he added.

The police mentioned that the people are earning around Rs10,000 to Rs 20,000 daily through these nude phone calls. Several bank accounts have been identified and a detailed investigation is being conducted over the way they were conducting this offense.

Venkataramana said that 31 mobile phones, a car, and a two-wheeler were seized from the accused.

The CI urged other victims who were deceived by the to come forward and complain to the police.
