Man Kills Wife And Attempts Suicide After Valentine's Day Dinner

In a very shocking incident, a man killed his wife and later attempted suicide. The incident took place in Ghaziabad. According to the reports, on Sunday, Devjeet Dutta, a thirty six year old man took his wife and son for a dinner on Valentine's Day. Later, he dropped his son at his Karol Bagh residence and the couple returned to their Sector 5 Vaishali residence around 11 pm. Police said that the deceased have been identified as Devjeet Dutt and his wife Puja. The couple have been living in the area for the past 5 years. 

Gyaneshwar Singh, SP City-2, speaking to TOI said that, “When a police team went to his house, they found the main gate open. When nobody responded even after several calls, the team entered the house and found the body."

Police said that the man was found lying in a pool of blood and later the wife was found dead. According to the cops, the wife was strangulated in her sleep, following which Devjeet attempted to kill himself. He slit his wrist and a suicide note was found. Police have shifted him to the nearyby hospital and he is now recovering in the hospital. A case has been registered in the Kaushambi police station.
