Indian Skipper Virat Kohli has been granted paternity leave as he's looking forward to the birth of his child. Kohli had informed about his plans to return to India after the first test in Adelaide. The Board of Cricket for Control in India (BCCI) granted the paternity leave and he will return to India after the first test match. All this is known to us but now, a few questions have arisen over who will replace Virat Kohli in his absence?
Yes, Virat Kohli's absence will impact the team in some way or the other. But it doesn’t mean the team will not win. Former off-spinner Harbhajan Singh is said to have stated that it is a window of opportunity for KL Rahul, who is coming back to the test team. In the absence of Kohli, Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul and Cheteshwar Pujara will get a chance to prove themselves. If Rohit Sharma opens a test match in Australia, it is a big thing in itself. Harbhajan also pointed out that Pujara’s performance against Australia in the previous tour. He stood like a rock in the entire test series.
