On the occasion of Diwali, Rajinikanth's Annatthe was released in theatres worldwide on Thursday. This film also hit the screens in Telugu with the title Peddanna and received a good start at the box office. Despite getting mixed reviews from a section of reviewers, the movie got a good collection on the first day.
As per the reports, Annatthe and Peddanna were released in over 2,000 screens. The Tamil audience had eagerly waited for the release as it is the first big movie to hit the screens after Vijay's Master in 2021. The long festival holiday guaranteed a good opening. As expected, Annatthe opened to packed houses in many parts of Tamil Nadu. Besides this, the film was well-received by fans in the US and Malaysia audience.
