In Telangana, 9 lakh students will sit for inter-board examinations.

The results will be released on June 24, with the advanced supplementary examination taking place a month later.

HYDERABAD: Syed Omar Jaleel, secretary of the Telangana State Board of Intermediate Examination (TSBIE), advises students to be at examination centres before 9 a.m. on Friday, when inter examinations begin.

He advised students to arrive at the exam centres by 8.30 a.m., stating that no one will be admitted if they are even a minute late.

Between 8.30 and 9.00 a.m., students will be admitted into the examination hall and will need some time to complete the distribution of answer sheets and other procedures.

"Sharp at 9 am, we will stop allowing any student into the hall. It is better that students reach well in advance. We have made all the necessary arrangements for the examination and, in view of the high summer temperature, we have placed a medical officer at each of the examination centres. They will have ORS packets and other medicines for any emergency situation," said the official.

According to him, the RTC is operating special buses to guarantee that students get to their examination sites on time. Exams will be held from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. from May 6 to 23.

This year's inter-board test will be taken by 9.07 lakh students.

4.55 lakh boys and 4.52 lakh girls are among them. In all, there are 1443 examination centres in the state, including 230 in Hyderabad. The results will be released on June 24, with the advanced supplementary examination taking place a month later.

The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) has also pressed into service nearly twice the number of buses for the examination hours before and after the test.

Psychologists have been hired by the board. Students who are experiencing anxiety or other associated concerns should call 18005999333 to speak with a counsellor.

The TSBIE has also set up a control room that will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. from May 5 to 24.

Students and teachers can use the programme to get answers to their questions on the intermediate theoretical exams.
