Tuni Rural (Kakinada): A brawl broke out during the New Year celebrations event organised by the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leaders on Monday. The incident took place in the village of Gedlabidu near S. Annavaram in Tuni mandal of Kakinada district.

The district TDP office had held a programme at local Sai Vedika to ring in the year 2024. However, the celebrations were marred by scuffle between the two TDP groups belonging to Yanamala brothers Yanamala Rajesh and Yanamala Krishnudu.

As Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, Yanamala Krishnudu and Yanamala Divya (Ramakrishna's daughter) were present on the dais, party leaders and activists formed queues and wished them a happy New Year. After some time, Divya left the place. A little later, Yanamala Rajesh arrived with his followers from Tondangi mandal. When he went on the stage to meet and greet Ramakrishnudu, Krishnudu’s men stopped him and asked him to follow the queue.

Enraged over this, Rajesh's supporters tried to break the line and move ahead which caused an altercation and it soon escalated into a scuffle between the followers of Rajesh and Krishnudu. The two sides clashed with each other over a petty issue. As the situation got out of control, Yanamala Ramakrishnudu and Yanamala Krishna intervened and pacified both the groups.
