TADEPALLI: YSRCP MLA Ambati Rambabu said on Friday that the government will approach Supreme Court on the High court’s order directing the state government to reinstate Ramesh Kumar as the State Election Commissioner.

Speaking to mediapersons in Tadepalli, Ambati Rambabu said Justice Kanakaraj was appointed as SEC in place of Nimmagadda Prasad through an ordinance of shortening the tenure of SEC from five years to three years. "In some cases, justice may not be served. But there is a possibility of moving the apex court. We have been consulting judicial experts in this regard," The YSRCP MLA said.

He said, "We will respect the court's orders, which go against the government's decision."

Speaking about the removal of Nimmagadda Ramesh who, he said, acted in a biased manner, Rambabu said that their government brought the ordinance in a democratic manner.

He also questioned that why should anyone resign if the court's verdicts are against the government. He also reminded that the court has ruled many verdicts against Chandrababu Naidu when he was the chief minister of the state.

"The government knew its powers which it possesses and other systems have also limited powers what the government has, and all the institutions should function in accordance with the Constitution," Ambati Rambabu added.
