Tension grips Macherla as TDP supporters attack YSRCP men
Palnadu: Tension gripped in Macherla town of Palnadu district after a scuffle broke out between the TDP workers and the YSRCP supporters on Wednesday. Several people were injured in the clashes.
The incident took place in the 28 ward area of the town when the TDP workers went overboard and started tying the party banners and flexis to the gates of the residence of a ruling party’s counsellor.
When the YSRCP counsellor demanded to remove the TDP flag from his residence, the workers of the opposition party got agitated and started abusing the counsellor and his followers and it soon escalated into a brawl which left several people injured.
The police rushed to the site after receiving information about the clashes. The police officials intervened in the matter and dispersed the crowd. The injured were immediately rushed to the hospital where they were given first aid and sent back home.
