TDP Uses Chair Remark, YV Subba Reddy Quips Where’s the Chair?

Vijayawada: With the Assembly elections approaching fast and the growing support for the ruling YSRCP, the principal opposition TDP is spending sleepless nights. The TDP is running out of ideas to take on the ruling party in the elections.

During a felicitation programme of volunteers from village secretariat system in Phirangipuram, the chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy exhorted the party cadre to work hard for the upcoming elections. He used the popular dialogue ‘Kurchi Madathapetti’ from Mahesh Babu’s recent blockbuster “Guntur Kaaram” and asked the cadre to roll up  their sleeves for the simultaneous Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in the state.

Latching onto this, both the TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu and his son party’s national general secretary Nara Lokesh criticised the ruling party. Lokesh, who is struggling to attract the people to his ongoing Shankahravam yatra, folded the chair on stage to tell the people that the TDP Jana and its coalition partner were going to dislodge the government.

Taking a jibe at the TDP father-son duo, YSRCP's North Andhra region coordinator YV Subba Reddy said that for the first time in the 41 years existence of the party, the TDP will not have any member in Rajya Sabha. Notably, the TDP lacked strength in the AP Assembly to win the RS polls and hence did not field its candidate.

“When you don’t have a chair, how can you fold it?” Subba Reddy quipped.
