N. Chandrababu Naidu, the leader of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), has released the pending party's list of candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha and assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh

The TDP is contesting 144 out of 175 assembly seats, leaving the remaining seats for its alliance partners

Former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, N. Chandrababu Naidu, has released the final list of candidates for the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) in the upcoming elections. TDP released the list of candidates for four Lok Sabha and nine assembly seats on Friday afternoon.

The TDP, which has allied with the JanaSena Party and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), will contest 144 assembly seats out of 175 in the state and 17 out of the 25 Lok Sabha seats, leaving 10 assembly seats and six Lok Sabha seats to the BJP and 21 assembly seats and two Lok Sabha seats to the JanaSena.

However, Naidu's candidate selection process has faced severe backlash and criticism from within the party. Allegations have surfaced that the TDP leadership has favoured certain aspirants, particularly those from Naidu's Kamma caste while neglecting candidates from poorer and marginalized communities. Party members have accused Naidu of backstabbing them, asserting that personal gain rather than party interests seem to be influencing his choices.

Amidst this controversy, the TDP has finalized candidates for the pending assembly seats. As a part of Lok Sabha seats, the names of Vizinagaram Appalanaidu, Ongolu Magunta Sreenivasulu Reddy, Ambika Lakshminarayana and Bhupesh Reddy have been announced.

Specific names have been announced for assembly seats of certain constituencies, such as Ganta Srinivas Rao for Bhimili, Kala Venkatrao from Cheepurupalle, and Dr. Gottipati Lakshmi among others.
