NTR dt. : Nara Chandrababu Naidu seems to be losing his grip over the TDP as disgruntled ticket aspirants are using pressure tactics against the party leader. The TDP is contesting the upcoming Assembly and Lok Sabha elections with the support of Pawan Kalyan’s Jana Sena Party and as per the seat-sharing formula Naidu has given 24 seats to the coalition partner.

As expected, seat distribution has disappointed many leaders in the TDP camp. The assembly tickets they were vying for has now been given to Jana Sena. The electoral pact with Pawan Kalyan’s party is now giving fresh troubles to the TDP leadership.

Mylavaram MLA Vasantha Krishna Prasad joined the TDP in the presence of Naidu at his residence in Hyderabad on Saturday. It is said the party leadership had assured him of the Mylavaram assembly seat. Devineni Umamaheswara Rao, former minister and TDP incharge of Mylavaram constituency, skipped the party event.

Devineni grew restless soon after the rumours of Vasantha’s switching to TDP started making rounds in political circles. Devineni’s name did not figure in the TDP’s first list of party candidates for the upcoming elections. It is learnt that Naidu has assured him of an appropriate position if the party is voted to power in the state.

Notably, Devineni had protested the joining of Vasantha in the party, however, the TDP leadership ignored him. Disgruntled Devineni and his supporters have raised a banner of revolt against Naidu saying the Mylavaram party unit will not extend support to the party’s candidate in the coming elections.
