Skill Development Case: SC Adjourns Hearing on Naidu's Bail Cancellation Petition

Vijayawada: The Supreme Court adjourned the hearing of a petition seeking cancellation of the bail granted to the TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu to April 16, 2024 on Tuesday. 

The Andhra Pradesh government had requested the top court to cancel the bail granted to Naidu in the multi-crore skill development scam case. The counsel representing the state government had informed the court that Naidu’s family members were issuing threatening statements to intimidate the public servants in the case. The state government had filed an interlocutory application seeking additional documents containing the statements made by Naidu's family.

After hearing the arguments, a bench of justices Bela M Trivedi and Pankaj Mithal posted the matter for next hearing on April 16. 

On November 20, 2024, the Andhra Pradesh high court had granted regular bail to Naidu in the case by converting the TDP leader’s four-week October 31 interim medical bail into an absolute bail. He was granted bail on medical grounds by the court.
