Sajjala Slams Chandrababu Over Volunteer System

31 Mar, 2024 19:12 IST|Sakshi Post

Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, the YSRCP State General Secretary, launched a scathing attack on Chandrababu Naidu, accusing him of conspiring to damage the volunteer system in Andhra Pradesh. Speaking to the media at the party's central office in Tadepalli, Ramakrishna Reddy defended the government's volunteer system, which directly delivers welfare schemes to people's doorsteps.

"Chandrababu built his party on the volunteer system from the beginning," Ramakrishna Reddy said. "However, he is now trying to undermine a system that benefits the poor, as it doesn't align with his interests."

Ramakrishna Reddy alleged that Chandrababu's politics are deceitful and questioned whether this is how a political party should behave. He claimed that Chandrababu's associate, Nimmagadda Ramesh, was working on his behalf, and Chandrababu's people were involved in the Citizen for Democracy organization, which filed a case against the volunteer system within 15 days of its formation.

"Chandrababu gave a message that these systems would be nothing without him," Ramakrishna Reddy said. "If Chandrababu had implemented the volunteer system, 2.5 lakh leeches would have been produced. Chandrababu does not know how to help the elderly and disabled."

Ramakrishna Reddy also criticized Chandrababu's alliance with Pawan Kalyan's Janasena party and the BJP, suggesting that Chandrababu had effectively swallowed these alliances. He claimed that Pawan Kalyan was reluctantly contesting in Pithapuram and had been limited to just 21 seats, while the BJP had been sidelined.

"Chandrababu understood that the situation has come to raise the flag in TDP," Ramakrishna Reddy said. "That is why they are campaigning with cheap words and insults. These elections are very important for the people of the state. People have understood who is doing conspiracies and who is doing good."

Ramakrishna Reddy defended the government's pension distribution system through the secretariat, stating that beneficiaries need not worry as pensions will be provided on the designated dates. He claimed that if Chandrababu came to power, the old days of bureaucratic delays and difficulties in accessing government services would return.

"In the past, even if a small certificate was required, it would take days," Ramakrishna Reddy said. "It is the volunteers who make the government schemes directly accessible to the people. Chandrababu stopped the services for the elderly and the disabled due to heartburn."

Ramakrishna Reddy expressed confidence in the YSRCP's support base, stating that the beneficiaries of government schemes are their "star campaigners" and that a "tsunami of people" is supporting Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy's bus trip.
