The denial of tickets for the upcoming assembly elections has caused widespread discontent among political leaders in TDP and Jana Sena camps in the erstwhile West Godavari districts. Several opposition leaders in Tanuku and Undi assembly constituencies have expressed displeasure and rebelled against their parties after being denied tickets for the upcoming elections. .

Former TDP MLA Venkata Sivarama Raju Vetukuri from Undi assembly segment and Vidivada Ramachandra Rao, Tanuku incharge for Jana Sena were ticket aspirants but their respective parties denied the tickets to them. The disgruntled leaders said the party high command had assured them of tickets but later reneged on their promise. Subsequently, they held meetings with their supporters and have issued an ultimatum to the leaderships of TDP and Jana Sena Party.  They also announced their intention to run in the elections independently.

TDP candidate from Tanuku Arimilli Radha Krishna went to the residence of Ramachandra Rao to persuade him to not contest against him, however, an upset Jana Sena leader sent him away without meeting him. It is said Ramachandra Rao had spent a lot of money on the party activities in his constituency. In 2019 elections too, the Jana Sena leadership denied the ticket to him and fielded the Tadepalligudem leader Pasupuleti Venkata Rama Rao from Tanuku constituency. However, Pasupuleti was defeated in the elections and later he joined the BJP.
