Panchayat Elections 2021: AP Speaker's Wife Files Nomination For Thogaram Sarpanch Post

Andhra Pradesh Assembly Speaker Tamminenei Sitaram's wife T Vanisri filed nomination papers on Monday.

As per reports, Tammineni Vanisri filed her papers at the Thogaram gram panchayat at Amadalavalasa mandal in Srikakulam district.

She came along with her son Tammineni Chiranjeevinag and her supporters and submitted her nomination papers to the returning officers.Along with her 10 candidates submitted their nomination papers for the ward member posts. Thogram is Tammineni Sitaram's native place and she is taking part in elections for the first time.

Februarys 8 was the last date for the filing of nominations for the third phase of elections for the Andhra Pradesh Panchayat Elections 2021.

The AP Panchayat polls will be conducted in four phases till February 21 with the first one being held on Tuesday.

According to the Panchayat Raj department, elections were to be held for 3,249 posts of panchayat sarpanchs, 525 have been unanimously elected, while no nomination was filed for a village in Nellore district during the first phase. As many as 7,506 candidates are contesting for sarpanch posts and 43,601 are in the fray for ward members.
