Opposition's Hollow Rhetoric: Praja Galam Speeches Failed due to Lack of Connection with Voters

18 Mar, 2024 17:59 IST|Sakshi Post

Ideally, a good opposition is always defined as an "echo" of people who are unable to reach the government due to oversights or undetermined public servants. Chief Ministers, Prime Ministers, and other government officials also accept and expect such a healthy and service-oriented outlook from opposition parties. However, the faction of the opposition led by Nara Chandrababu Naidu has been a glorious failure in fulfilling their duties, and now they have exposed their failure even in connecting with the people.

The innocent voter, with a glamorous star like Pawan Kalyan and a charismatic leader like Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Nara Chandrababu Naidu's side, should have at least showcased interest in hearing what they have to say. Instead, the average voter simply did not find any connection with the spiteful opposition, which dragged even PM Narendra Modi's glamour into an indefinite abyss.

This is not just our opinion; it is the truth we could identify in Narendra Modi's speech himself. Nara Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan have always been spiteful against AP CM YS Jagan, and they tried to spit the same venom at the recently held "Prajagalam" event. However, PM Modi could not state outright lies or complete truth. He had to respect their commitment to contest the 2024 elections as an alliance; hence, he levied some half-hearted allegations on the government and even gave some indirect compliments, stating that AP did see infrastructural development under YS Jagan's leadership.

He kept talking about BJP winning 400 seats in the upcoming Parliamentary elections and asked voters to choose NDA. He could not praise either Pawan Kalyan or Nara Chandrababu Naidu wholeheartedly. He even expressed his annoyance with the third-grade arrangements at the event. Can you believe that at such an event, when PM Modi was speaking in his usual style, the mic stopped thrice? He had to control his frustration and address the crowd, but he could not salvage the situation.

While YSRCP carried out three Mega Siddham public events, each one having more attendance than the previous one, Prajagalam did not find any audience. While the opposition claimed that they anticipated a huge 10 lakh attendance, they hardly managed 1 lakh attendance.

We could see this frustration in PM Modi's speech as well. Normally, a charismatic and people-pleasing orator, he seemed to have no interest in really carrying any manifesto of the alliance to the public. In fact, even both Pawan Kalyan and Nara Chandrababu Naidu did not emphasize their manifesto at any point during the event.

PM Modi did try to talk about NIT and IIT, but he did not address the promised special status or privatization of Vizag Steel Plant. We can conclude by stating that this Prajagalam is a spineless, spiteful echo that definitely did not resonate with AP voters!
