Amaravati: Targeting the TDP’s overtures to Pawan Kalyan-led Jana Sena, the Water Resources Minister Ambati Rambabu said “the opposition leader Chandrababu Naidu doesn’t have courage to contest alone” and therefore looking for other parties support to take on the YS Jagan’s government.

Addressing a press conference in the YSR Congress party office at Tadepalli, the state minister said as the ruling party enjoys the full support of the public and the opposition parties are desperate to win back the trust of people. He said “even in the rallies of TDP and Jana Sena, people raised Jai Jagan slogan much to the embarrassment of opposition parties.” Rayudu claimed that the TDP supremo is making attempts to instigate the people against the state government while adding that when the state is witnessing developmental activities, why would the people hit the streets?

Criticising the ‘Quit Jagan, Save Andhra Pradesh’ slogan of the TDP, the state minister asked why should the chief minister YS Jagan quit the government? Reiterating the current dispensation’s welfare schemes, he said, “in just 35 months, the state government has transferred Rs One lakh 39 thousand rupees through Direct Benefit Transfer to the  beneficiaries.”

Isn't the state safe under the YSRCP-led government? Raking up the previous TDP regime, Rayudu said the people faced trouble because the TDP government “shaved” the welfare off the state.

Raising the issue of talks between the TDP and Jana Sena for a possible alliance the YSRCP leader said Pawan Kalyan-led Jana Sena has no ambition and is directionless.

Blaming the previous TDP government for the delay in the execution of Polavaram project, the Water Resources minister said due to poor planning and execution, the diaphragm wall of the project was damaged during the recent floods.

He accused the TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu of spreading false information about the government welfare schemes. The YSRCP leader said the political prospects of the opposition party are on ventilator and it doesn’t behove of Naidu to talk about bringing down the current dispensation in the state.
