6 Jan, 2024 08:57 IST|Sharada

Vijayawada MP Kesineni Nani has announced that he will be resigning from the TDP. He will also be giving up his MP post. Kesineni Nani announced his decision via his social media handles. In his post, Nani sounded disappointed while saying that it was pointless for him to continue being a Member of Parliament and a TDP member when the party chief, Chandrababu Naidu, feels he is not needed.

"With Chandrababu Naidu garu feeling that the party does not need me, I feel that it is not apt for me to continue in this party. I am soon going to reach Delhi and meet with the Speaker of the Lok Sabha to tender my resignation from my Lok Sabha membership. Immediately, I will also resign from the party," he wrote (as translated into English).

Take a look at the tweet:

The resignation of the two-time MP comes in the wake of certain crucial developments about his position in the party. The party's high command decided to bypass him for the 2024 General Elections by not giving him a ticket to contest as the TDP candidate from Vijayawada. In this regard, the communication came through Alapati Rajendra Prasad and two other leaders. There has also been a political clash between him and his younger brother, Kesineni Sivanath (Chinni).
