The Indian Meteorological Department has forecasted mid-summer thunderstorms accompanied by lightning in few parts of north coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam and Rayalaseema, for the next three days.
A MET official said, “thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and gusty winds (30 to 40 kmph) are likely to occur at a few places in north coastal AP, Yanam and Rayalaseema.”
The Met department extended similar weather conditions at isolated places in south coastal AP on Wednesday. Likewise, parts of north coastal AP and Yanam are expected to receive thunderstorms on the weekend as well.
As per the IMD, this climate is a result of the cyclonic circulation over the Comorin area and its neighbourhood at 1.5km above the mean sea level. MET department has alerted the monsoon emergency teams to ensure that citizens do not face any inconvenience.
