YSRCP’s Fan Runs at High Speed in Kurnool

11 Mar, 2024 19:00 IST|Sakshi Post

AP Elections 2024: It is an election time and political heat is increasing at a very fast pace but the people in Kurnool have put the fan in top speed to beat the heat of opportunistic politics from opposition parties. The party cadre of ruling YSRCP are confident of ensuring a hat-trick victory for the party in the forthcoming Assembly elections.

Kurnool TDP leaders are trying to influence the voters with the false promises but the people have realised that the development is possible only under the able leadership of chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.

YSRCP won the Kurnool assembly seat both in 2014 and 2019 elections. In the 2024 elections, the party is going all out to register the win for a record third time. MLA Hafeez Khan had won the Kurnool seat in the last elections. This time, the YSRCP leadership has fielded A Md Imtiyaz Khan, former collector and the son-in-law of a popular doctor Dr Ismail, who passed away during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Last month, senior IAS officer A Md Imtiaz took Voluntary Retirement from Service (VRS) from civil services and joined YSRCP to contest the upcoming assembly elections. The ruling party enjoys a massive support from the minority community in Kurnool assembly constituency. The hopes of the opposition party were dashed as the Kurnool unit of YSRCP is working unitedly despite the sitting MLA Hafeez Khan being denied the ticket and a new face has been declared the party’s candidate. Khan, former MLA SV Subba Reddy and Mayor Ramaiah are working together to strengthen the party’s performance at the ballot box in the elections.

The unity among the YSRCP party cadre is giving sleepless nights to the TDP candidateTG Bharat, son of TG Venkatesh, a BJP Rajya Sabha MP. Bharat was defeated by Khan in the previous elections, so the TDP candidate is trying to woo the voters with poll promises.
