Tadepalli: MLA Katasani Rambhupal Reddy criticised Eenadu Telugu daily for targeting his family members with fake news reports. Addressing a press conference at the YSRCP headquarters here on Wednesday, Katasani asked if the vernacular newspaper will remain silent if a similar smear campaign is launched against the wife of Ch. Ramoji Rao and his daughter-in-law.

“Freedom of press should not be misused. The newspaper alleged that someone had given me 10 percent shares in a project. When my people went to the local Eenadu office to seek an explanation about the false news, the management locked it and disappeared. If you had reported the fact there was no need to run away. If you have guts, face me on political issues and unnecessarily don’t target my family members,” Katasani Rambhupal Reddy told reporters.

Panyam legislator further said that Eenadu has turned into a pamphlet of TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu. The newspaper report has also alleged that he had assets worth 1,000 crores. If Ramoji Rao proves this allegation, I will transfer the entire claimed assets to him, Katasani asserted.

He targeted the Telugu news daily for making hue and cry over his supporters' protest against the false news report. He added that the supporters staged a protest on the road and did not even enter the newspaper’s office located near Rajvihar in Kurnool.
