A team of Election Commission of India officials will be visiting Andhra Pradesh for three days starting tomorrow, Monday. The team comprising of Chief Election Commissioner Rajeev Kumar and Election Commissioners will reach Vijayawada on January 8. The ECI officials are visiting the state in view of the upcoming elections for the State Legislature Assembly and Lok Sabha elections in the coming months.

During the three-day visit, the team will hold discussions with the political parties, enforcement agencies and other stakeholders. On Monday, the EC officials will meet the representatives of national and state recognised political parties.

They will also hold a review meeting with the state Chief Electoral Officer Mukesh Kumar Meena pertaining to the errors and complaints in the voter’s list. The team will also hold discussions with the Chief Secretary and the Director General of Police (DGP) on the poll preparedness in the state.

On January 10, the CEO Meena will make presentations before the ECI team which will provide detailed information about the poll preparedness in the state. The CEC and Election Commissioners will hold a press conference at 4.30 am on Wednesday.
