Vijayawada: Soon after the virtual inauguration of new districts by the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy, Telugu Academy Chairperson and TDP founder NTR's wife Lakshmi Parvathi responded to the government’s move. She came down heavily on TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu for not taking forward the founder’s legacy ahead.

The Chairperson of Telugu Academy said, "Chief Minister YS Jagan deserves appreciation as he has given befitting tributes to NTR even though he had no relation with him or his party. Jaganmohan Reddy is the real successor to NTR’s legacy as he is implementing all the welfare schemes the TDP leader had envisioned. I’m happy to see a new district has been named after NTR‌.”

Lakshmi Parvathi said that the long pending aspirations of NTR fans have been fulfilled eventually. She slammed Chandrababu Naidu for reportedly deceiving the party founder NTR by snatching his political legacy. “From the beginning Chandrababu Naidu hated NTR. He would always speak about the party leader negatively,” she said

Alleging Chandrababu Naidu failed in prevailing upon the Centre to confer Bharat Ratna on NTR, she said the TDP party has become a “party of thieves”.
