AMARAVATI: The Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) has made all arrangements to issue notifications for the recruitment of government employees in the State. Notifications will be issued for the 1,180 posts within ten days as per sources. However, as the orders issued by the government regarding raising the maximum age limit for SC, ST, and BC Reserved category candidates expired in May, the Commission has sent proposals to the Government on the extension of the maximum age limit orders for the Reserved candidates.
The government, on the other hand, has already ordered the implementation of a ten percent quota in government jobs for the economically weaker sections (EWS). However, the Commission has also written to the Government whether the posts which were leftover in this quota, could be carried forward or not. Notifications will be issued as soon as the orders are issued by the government clarifying these two issues.
The AP government has already released GO No 49 for 1,180 vacant posts. The Finance department, in its recent orders, accorded permission to APPSC to fill the vacant posts, in various departments. The government will also implement a 10 percent reservation for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS).
As per the orders:
APPSC member S Salam Babu said that the AP State Service and Subordinate Rules need to be amended and a GO will be released to issue the notification based on the roster points.
