APPSC: No Prelims For Group II To IV Jobs

18 Jul, 2021 09:58 IST|Sakshi Post

Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission announced that except for Group 1 posts, no preliminary exam will be conducted for other APPSC exams. APPSC member Shaik Salam Babu said that preliminary exams for the APPSC except for Group 1 posts have been dropped.

Furthermore, in future notifications, 10% of all positions will be reserved for EWS (Economically Weaker Section)candidates. There will also be an increase in the number of jobs in different posts.

All cases against unemployed youth who had held a protest near the APPSC office will be withdrawn by the APPSC.

According to Babu, "Out of the 32 notifications it had issued, APPSC has completed posting in 30 notifications." The filling of the Group 1 and government polytechnic college lecturer posts is going to be completed soon after the pending cases in the court are solved.

Salam Babu said that "The APPSC exams are conducted fairly and the posts are being filled without any difficulty. With the removal of preliminary exams, the time taken to conduct the exams has been reduced from almost a year and a half to three months. The APPSC has offered suggestions to the state government, which they have accepted."

The notifications for 1,180 posts are going to be issued in August. He said that "Candidates who are preparing for the exam have been losing valuable time due to lengthy procedure and requested the commission to minimise the recruitment process. To benefit them, we have decided to drop the prelims and the new recruitment process will be notified soon. The exam can be online or offline. We are examining the patterns of the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) and Short Service Commission (SSC) as well."

He also added that "The demand of unemployed youth to increase the number of posts to be filled has been taken to higher authorities. The state government also responded favourably. The APPSC has also decided to withdraw cases filed against unemployed youth who staged a protest near the APPSC office."
