AP Village Volunteers, Asha Workers To Ensure Vaccination Of Eligible Members

AMARAVATI: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister  YS Jagan Mohan Reddy urged all the eligible people who are aged above 45 years to get vaccinated and stated that the state-wide vaccination programme will be completed in 90 days. Leading from the front, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, along with his wife YS Bharathi, on Thursday, had taken COVID vaccine at 140th Ward Secretariat at Bharatpet in Guntur district.

The Chief Minister who was in the city to launch the vaccination process reiterated that coexistence with COVID is inevitable and that vaccination is the only way to prevent infection.

Further, the Chief Minister stated that the government has mooted this massive vaccination programme like nowhere else in the country, by taking it through village and ward secretariats standing up as role model for other states. He said that a house-to-house survey would be conducted with village volunteers and Asha workers ensuring that every eligible person in the house gets vaccinated. He said that the volunteers would be collecting the details, enroll, and give a vaccination date.

He also said that as part of precautionary measures, an ambulance will be made available along with the doctors and other medical staff at the secretariat, which will  be taken as a unit and vaccination would be carried out like a 'yagana.'

After vaccination, the Chief Minister was under medical observation for a while and later he interacted with doctors and secretariat staff. Ministers Alla Nani, Mekathoti Sucharita, Sriranganatha Raju, MLAs Ambati Rambabu, Kilari Rosaiah, Alla Ramakrishna Reddy, and others were present at the event.
