AP Govt Serious Over Ongole RTA Official, Home Guard Seizing Car For CM's Convoy

PRAKASAM/AMARAVATI: The Andhra Pradesh government has reacted strongly to the forcible taking away of a private travels car in which a family was going to Tirumala, by a Road Transport official and a Home Guard. Ongole Assistant Motor Vehicle Inspector Adusumalli Sandhya and Home Guard P. Tirupal Reddy were found responsible and departmental action was initiated against them

Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy expressed his ire over the incident and ordered officials to investigate and take strict action against those responsible.After inquiry it was found that the above two officials were responsible and Transport Commissioner Katamneni Bhaskar on Thursday issued orders suspending the MVI. Home guard Tirupal was surrendered to the police department and they were instructed to take strict action against him. ‘We are seriously considering the manner in which the Ongole Transport Department officials have treated the devotees going to Tirumala. The CM did not give any instructions to take private vehicles for the convoy. Ongole Assistant‌ MVI Adusumalli Sandhya, the manner in which the home guard acted was highly inappropriate. The inquest revealed that they were both responsible for the incident which caused trouble to the devotees. We have taken action against them, "said Transport Commissioner Katamneni Bhaskar.

As per reports a family from Vinukonda was going to Tirumala for darshan and had stopped for dinner at a hotel in Ongole on Wednesday night when an RTA home guard forcibly took away their car stating that they needed the car for the CM’s convoy and left them stranded on the road. The family including two women and two children later hired an auto rickshaw and went to the RTC bus station until they could arrange an alternative vehicle. Ongole YSRCP MLA and former minister Balineni Srinivasa Reddy said that the incident was unfortunate and apologized to the family on behalf of the government.
