The State Government on Monday has relaxed curfew timings by three more hours till 9 PM daily in eight of 13 districts in Andhra Pradesh from July 1 to 7.  The decision was taken after a review meeting by Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Monday over the COVID prevention measures and vaccination drive in the State.

After the review meeting and based on the corona positivity rate  which had reduced significantly the State has taken a decision to this end.

Curfew relaxation will be in place from 6 am to 9 pm in 8 districts where the COVID positivity rate is less than 5 per cent.

Curfew relaxation would be from 6 am to 9 pm in eight districts of Anantapur, Kurnool, Guntur, Vijayanagaram, Visakhapatnam, YSR Kadapa, Sri Potti Sriramulu Nellore and Srikakulam. The night curfew will continue as usual from 9pm to 6am.

While in the other five districts of East and West Godavari, Prakasam, Krishna and Chittoor districts, the curfew relaxation would be from 6 am to 6 pm only since the coronavirus positivity rate remained over 5%.

  • These timings will be applicable from July 1 to July 7.
  • Liquor shops, restaurants, and other shops and establishments will be closed from 9 PM.
  • During the COVID curfew, government offices will function normally.
  • Medical, Health and other emergency services would continue to function as usual.

The state government would review the situation in the five districts where the positivity rate is higher than five percent in the coming days and take a decision on extending the relaxations.
